On Monday, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to sign into law SB 1440 (Padilla), and AB 2302
(Fong). These bills will increase the number of students who successfully transfer from California Community
Colleges (CCC) to the California State University (CSU) system by establishing a transfer degree that would
guarantee admission to a CSU with junior status. By clarifying and streamlining the process, students will
graduate faster, thereby allowing community colleges and the CSU to serve more students.
