Latino Scorecard 2003:
Grading the American Dream

ABC is proud to be a part of the coalition that has developed The Latino Scorecard 2003:  Grading the American Dream-an action oriented document that follows the United Way's American Dream Makers Report released in August 2000.

On October 30, 2003, the Alliance for a Better Community in conjunction with United Way of Greater Los Angeles, and five top leading research institutions in the county released the Latino Scorecard 2003:  Grading the American Dream.  The Scorecard assesses and grades five policy areas:  health, education, economic development, housing and public safety.  Further, the Scorecard is designed to spur positive change, offering recommendations in each policy area.  ABC will be implementing this action agenda.

Through the Scorecard's Action Agenda, we will bring together an array of resources and put them to work in a strategic manner designed to create the most impact.  While there are many serious challenges that face the Latino community and threaten the future prosperity of Los Angeles County, we are in a position to do something about it.  The investments we make today in the vitality of the Latino community will move us down the road toward the most worthy of all possible destinations:  a better future for everyone.  We invite you to be a part of this journey in putting the community first.
